Inspired by the Viking raid at a monastery on the island of Lindisfarne in 793 AD.

Slaughtered in a viking massacre
Northmen come to kill men like dogs
And take the gold of the Christian god
Their pagan gods will grant them strength,
By Thor and Odin in pious blood they’ll bathe

These demons approach with northern winds
Their violence a punishment for sin
Priests hold cross in trembling hand
By axe are hewn down where they stand

Desecrated in a viking massacre
Now meet your god
Now meet your god

Never before has such terror been seen
As that which the heathen vikings bring
On the altar spilt the blood of saints
Their bodies trampled like filth in the streets

Longboats herald the change you fear
Your dread grows worse as dragon heads grow near
Resistance is but a fantasy
Your untimely death a certainty now

Gutted in a viking massacre

Victory and glory spur them on
Longboats left long before dawn
Bred to take and give nothing back
Ferocity gains all that they lack

At Lindisfarne slaughter would foretell
The descent of Europe into viking hell!
